Fun story - I bought some beautiful papers that had several designs of pears on them. I hosted a craft day to share the papers with my friends. My plan was to make a pear crisp for us to enjoy while we worked. Your post came out that same day with a delicious recipe !!! Thank you for being there in so many ways. Sending a giant hug across the miles.
NO WAY. We're on the same page! I am so thrilled to hear that. Did you try my recipe, and how did it turn out? So grateful for your support. Big hugs Julie!
Once again, your timing is perfect. I am so busy these past few weeks and needed this to remember to slow down. We have so much company coming and going (which we love! ) and I am trying too hard to be the perfect hostess. Simple meals enjoyed al fresco by candlelight is the way to go. I am feeding several young adults who have voracious appetites -thank goodness for a big grill and sheet pan recipes !
Great suggestions. I’ve also found the French can be very in tune with their inner cues especially re food. I once made a documentary there and every morning started with rounds of good morning kisses. And production fully stopped at lunchtime- off to a restaurant, three courses, wine, coffee. No one overweight, no one rushed. Once at an office meeting they ‘made me happy’ by ordering in. Felt SO wrong. And yet our Anglo culture is so governed by time pressure that we walk drinking our coffee and eat lunch at the laptop!
