Whether you’re trying to conceive, manage pregnancy, or balance your hormones, making choices that ensure you’re keeping your body strong during summer fun will help you feel your best while taking agency on what’s going to keep you healthiest.
You can enjoy the foods that you love, and sometimes with small healthier swaps that actually taste even better, you’ll enjoy those foods and feel better, too. Knowledge is power. Use it to keep hormone levels steady, help your ovaries thrive, and ensure you’re getting adequate nutrients you and your baby need without feeling like you’re compromising.
I know, those 4th of July charred burgers on a white bun with sesame seeds are hard to beat on the grass in the sunshine. My goal this week is to help you enjoy these types of flavors, but also help you walk into the party a bit wiser, ready to make the choices for your body and your baby that you’re proud of and excited for.

Let’s dive right into breaking down your summertime burger, and how these decisions might be helpful to your body and your happiness.
Finally (!!!) we have 4th of July BBQ’s, outside grilling and summertime fun coming up. Can’t wait to dig into charred flavors galore paired with dreamy seasonal fruits and vegetables alongside friends and family.
Buns are SO much more fun when they have flavor, color, texture and pizzazz. All-purpose flour is so passé and void of any flavor – let’s skip that.
Why not use this as an opportunity to get fibers, protein and whole grains into your meal and enjoy every bite? If you can avoid the typical white potato/Hawaiian bun, and instead embrace a well-crafted bread, I bet you’ll love it. And you’ll have way more energy for the party in a few hours and your baby will get the nutrients they need.
